This poem is the Vision for Platform written by a group of young advisors.

I am the CREATION of all your IMAGINATION

I am the FUNKY ANIMAL trying to escape from the BIG BLACK SPEAKERS

I am the YOUTHFUL RUNNER about to win the RACE OF LIFE

I am welcoming - like your GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE

Platform is Islington Council's stunning arts venue for young people. The former Hornsey Road Baths laundry has been transformed into a theatre, performance space, media suites, a recording studio, dance studio and a cafe.

Platform is much more than performing arts! You can also come for personal help with apprenticeships, college applications, CVs, looking for work, volunteering or developing your own projects. We have opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience for employment. Platform is also here to support when you need information, advice and guidance on personal issues, lifestyle decisions and sexual health.

Islington's young people have been, and continue to be, at the heart of the transformation of Hornsey Road Baths and Laundry into Platform.

In partnership with arts organisation All Change, Islington Council recruited a team of 24 young people who have helped create a youth-led venue like no other using a £3.5 million Big Lottery 'MyPlace' grant. These Young Advisors contributed more than 1,500 hours of their time finding out what young people and communities in Islington want, researching arts and youth venues, and working with architects, designers and local arts organisations to develop what today is Platform.
